KWL and the Teachers' Pet

I have learned how to prepare an activities in an easy way.  I understand that it's hard to prepare by writing in a Microsoft  Word Office programme with our mental writings. To use these kinds of programmes make our lifes faster and easier. On the contrary; Teacher Pets Software saves our time for preparing a great deal of activities for the learners whom we teach for.
The program is designed to support educators facing severely reduced budgets by providing technology that eases desktop management, reduces labor costs, extends PC lifecycles and reduces security risks. I wonder this software's mechanics works in a practical and punctual way!  =)

In most case, both finding and creating activities for teacher is hard; however, I think students appreciate with activities (for me it is like that) If instructors create more activities in their lectures, they may be more effective for learners because     in my opininons, when students involve some kind of activities, s/he learns exactly.

KWL

I have not known anything about the interactive web pages until now. However, it comes more close to see what we doing right now. I want to know about how to insert these quizzes in the program. This is awesome. And more about the hints section because it is hard to keep hint behind the questions! :)

Lexico-Grammatical Feature II

For the "Verb", it always use the 'Noun Phrase' & 'Adverb' we can see this feature easly from the "becoming". By this way, I can easily show students the keywords and how often they used in the text it's surronding arounf itself; therefore, they can easily learn so many words.

"LEXICO - GRAMMATICAL FEATURE"

In the first reading text, it is more difficult to see:

- and drying climate meant that by BC, the Sahara region was BECOMING increasingly dry and hostile.
-World Cups. South Africa hosted the World Cup tournament, BECOMING the first African country to do so.

- ence from France. Ghana followed suit the next year March , BECOMING the first of the sub Saharan colonies to be freed.

Vocabulary Profiling

Vocabulary Profiling

I think both BNL vocabulary Profiler & Test Document Readability are the best tools because I can list word in English and, also, which words are the key ones. In addition one of these tools correct my mistakes in the sentences.

KWL

KWL

I think the readibilt depends on the contect which we read on and also its hardness level whethere it is an easy or the hard one. The more structures, sentences, words we read, we may have to read again and again.  I can give a simple example what I am doing right now from this task: To illustrate; in the 1st question which asked: "Which one do you prefer for pre-intermediate group of students?" All of us chose the option "B" due to its readibility features in the text. I wonder how does it happen with a one-click!It is awesome to see the program has in itself. I can simply write that this program can be applied on all levels of learners.

Vocabulary Profiling

"Vocabulary Profiling CTE319 Data-Driven Learning"

I can give my students text which they are going to read on it. Then, vocabulary profiling helps them be aware of that they can easily cooperate with it. Actually, with this, they can be able to learn and capture both the frequent and the common words; therefore they can easily can memorize the words!

Creating Vocabulary Profiler

Prism is suitable for the vocabulary profiler for it use of commonness among the other words. Even if we do not use the words so much in our daily life speeche, the context which we use is important. We cannot use the medical terms such as lung, surgeon, catling, etc. in our department which is  english language teaching.

The video which integrated within shows us the words which are frequent and  infrequent. As I am a prospective teacher I can apply the same application to my student and can easily observe them which words they know and most, or which words they do not know; in other words, which they use not much in their speaking or writing. As a result of this, I can improve their language profile step by step. So, it is again depends on their knowledge about the language. I am not sure but if I give my students an advanced reading material probably they cannot guess and know the words in the text; however if I give them a text whhich is an intermediate level as a teacher both I and the learner whom I teach focus on more interaction and enjoyable teaching in terms of both of them and me.

The main difference between a word cloud and  vocabulary profiler is whhile the word cloud is more based on the finding the main point of text in terms of students, vocabulary profile is based on finding the words which are used in terms of teachers for learners, so it more broader than word cloud because you, as a teacher see what the learners should get from the text an important. Therefore, I can say that I would use the word cloud as student when I have a homework and vocabulary profile when I will be  teacher to capture my students' knowledge.

Vocabulary Profiling

TASK II:

It is quite debatable topic that the one who use the most commonly words make her/his communication better. It is because of his/her requirement to use these useful words to make him/herself understandable. No one wants to be not understandable in terms of whoever s/he is listened to; in other words, the advanced communication which includes daily life speeches make listeners bored. Knowing vocabulary does not mean always you apply in every sentences of yours, therefore, we as speaker should be careful about that issue. For native speaker it is more easy to capture because his/her daily life speech depends on his/her  own language than nothing else. BUT even if a person is native s/he may not know the word, so it is quite debatable that i depends how much people use the words are. I am not suprised that their frequency of because according to their variables they are different from each other such as British English versus Australian English. I think the conditions should be depend on what is your target such as learners and what is easy to teach as you are a teacher.

Vocabulary Profiling

***              No matter how good learners' English is,  they will never fail to come across unknown words in nearly every text they will be exposed to. Guessing the meaning from the text is hard for who does not know English as his/ her native language, even s/he good at it.These unknown words which we confront usually do not use in a daily life, or else we can immediately guess it.

***             In Prep. school yes we had but when we pass to our department we have no such an activites like that. It is hard to guess because I mentioned above  the "unknown and being not used in a daily life" make them hard enough, so learners or whoever read the text make sure that s/he understand it context clearly.

***             Even if people are young or old we all keep learning throughout our life. Whether the learners or teachers it is not important to classifying learning BUT if the teacher give and support learner with strong feedbacks and teach them both beneficial and advantageous materials for their prospective lifes, they should also come up with new and interesting knowledge for learners' to keep alive their learning style.

"Teaching Ideas" "CTE319" and "Data-driven Learning"

"Teaching Ideas" "CTE 319" and "Data-driven Learning"

Nowadays many people use social media which is for many many things and issues such as communication, interaction, knowledge building, etc. We use it because other than encylopaedia, books, audio material we find lots of thing from via internet. I think it is good for to upgrade classroom environment more vivid, dynamic, and active on the internet because, as I said before, it is used by everyone. If I put data-driven-learning into education, I can say obviously that it is easier to reach authentic and real tasks.By this application, both learner and teacher use materials in advance and more actively according to their use. Apart from this, technology can be great tool for motivating and engaging students and we can follow a great amount of innovation.  All over the world technology is developing day by day and even if people do not know how to use internet they should learn about it. to sum up, if I mention about my future life I think I will use the internet or any other technological materials such as OHP, projector, etc.

DDL

Task 1:

I think, whenever we want we can follow DDL. It is more suitable to check small groups than larger groups in data-driven learning because it's more easier to follow the student in small groups. I can simply say that DDL is bvased on learning-centered, therefore hypnotising the learners' knowledge quickly. Technology is also important features for DDL because we can easily waht's going on immediately and forsure. So, there is the point view: actually learners cannot usually follow the DDL in f2f class, indeed we can can sometimes should use computer labs as a class. According to text, DDL is also suitable for both individual and group because it has 4 main aspect ehich are authentic materials, real activities, focusing on learner and the use of hand-made tools, so in another word, they can be used in both individual and group work but as I said before it more capture to figure out in smaller groups.

Task 2:

According to Wordle the top five words are "learning", "language", "materials", "knowledge", and also "teaching".This can be useful a lot because Wordle helps people to see the frequent words and also the important ones so anyone who will read this long text will have an idea about what s/he will read about. In summary, the text is based on learning issues and materials which is combined to learner.

Task 3:

The advantage of it was when I click the choosen word, it shows me how many times it is used and where it is used in this crowded text.

After "materials" it is more often to take prepositions, but after "enhanced" & "authentic" they are used with nouns.

The preposition "for" is stronger than the other collacations.
